Mauritius organises a conference on digitalisation and sustainable tourism

first_imgMauritius Ministry of Tourism organised the International Conference on Digitalisation and Sustainable Tourism that addressed the current status, trends, challenges and growth opportunities of the broader tourism sector digitalisation. It took place at Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, Flic en Flac from May 23 – 24.The Mauritius Ministry proposed that the symposium aimed to provide high-level policymakers, including ministers of tourism, tourism board CEOs, specialists, academics and experts to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of digitalisation for the tourism industry.The itinerary included sessions on technology transformation and tourism; redefining destination marketing strategy in the digital era; challenges to the digitalisation of the tourism sector; fostering sustainable tourism development in today’s high-tech globalised world; technology, climate change and sustainable tourism; and the future orientation of the tourism industry.The conference coincided with the 50th anniversary of the independence of Mauritius.last_img
